Hotel Waldhaus Sils*****
Hotel Waldhaus Sils
Very few hotels in Switzerland and perhaps even in Europe have such an impressive history and as many original and unusual features as the Waldhaus in Sils, overlooking Sils-Maria. They are the reason why it has attracted writers, musicians and scientists ever since it opened in 1908. Theodor Adorno and Thomas Mann, for example.
The 140 stylish rooms and suites of the legendary five-star establishment, as well as the 1,400 m2 Spa, which stunningly reflects its natural surroundings, all provide space for relaxation and well-being. This winter, Waldhaus Sils will celebrate its 111th anniversary with various events.
Executive chef Gero Porstein
At the head of the Waldhaus kitchen brigade is Chef Gero Porstein. The native German can look back on a longstanding culinary career in Switzerland. With his experience and innovative ideas, he puts his own very personal signature under Waldhaus cuisine.
Together with his team of 22 chefs, he manages to conjure nothing less than the traditional tastes of the Waldhaus onto the plate. In harmony with the Fex Valley, the Engadine and Switzerland, the kitchen crew chooses their produce wisely and with great care and refines them with know-how and skill into contemporary cuisine, without losing sight of culinary heritage.
