“Syrco Bakker is a super talent, who is just as passionate as I am”, so his mentor, celebrity chef Sergio Herman. The 33 year-old Dutchman with Indonesian roots, was already working as sous chef in Sergio Herman’s legendary three-star gourmet temple Oud Sluis at the age of 22. Since 2010, Syrco Bakker has been Chef de Cuisine at the Pure C restaurant opened by Sergio Herman in the Dutch seaside Hotel Cadzand directly on the North Sea coast. Here, Syrco Bakker enthrals guests with modern Flemish gourmet cuisine, masterly composed with Asian notes.
Thanks to Syrco Bakker’s culinary skills, the Pure C was immediately awarded a Michelin star. The gastronomic concept is entirely reflected in his dynamic signature cuisine. True to the motto “Experience and Enjoy”, guests at the Pure C share all the dishes served at the table, such as the signature dish “Sea bass Boemboe Bali, Gado Gado”. Before his career took him to the Oud Sluis, Syrco Bakker gained his initial formative experience under master chefs Jean-Georges Klein, Jonnie Boer and Gordon Ramsay.
