Once the funicular railway, opened in 1907, reaches its destination at an altitude of 2,456 metres, it is not only the wine glasses that will compete in sparkling with the stars. Reopening in December 2010 after a 1 ½ year renovation, the mountain hotel Muottas Muragl offers a spectacular view of the ice-capped Bernina mountain range and the exceptional lake scenery of the Upper Engadine.
