Zineb "Zizi" Hattab is one of the most talented chefs in Switzerland. In January 2020, she opened her own restaurant “Kle” in Zurich, where she serves exclusively vegan dishes with great success. GaultMillau named her “Discovery of the Year” in 2020, and in 2021 she received the “Green Star” from the Michelin Guide. Yet the career of the Spaniard with Moroccan roots has been anything but classic. Hattab grew up in Barcelona, studied mechanical engineering and worked as a software engineer until a few years ago. Then she discovered her passion for cooking. She taught herself professional techniques and completed traineeships with Andreas Caminada in Fürstenau and with Massimo Bottura in Modena - the starting signal for her second career as a chef. Hattab then moved to New York with her husband and cooked at “Cosme” alongside the Mexican star chef Enrique Olvera before moving to Zurich with the decision to open her own restaurant. At “Kle,” she now combines her Spanish Moroccan roots with culinary elements from her adopted home of Switzerland. Within one year, in the fall of 2021, Hattab opened her second restaurant "Dar", which has also been awarded with a Michelin star. Hattab remains true to herself and serves purely plant-based dishes, as she does at "Kle," at the same time celebrating Moroccan cuisine. Her first cookbook "Taste of Love" was published in the fall of 2022.
