Najat Kaanache was born in Spain to Moroccan parents. Today, the former actress is not only a committed women’s human rights activist, but also one of the most important ambassadors for Moroccan cuisine. Najat Kaanache has already twice been elected “best Moroccan chef in the world” as part of the “World’s 50 Best”. She is the face of the successful TV show “Cocina Marroqui”, which is broadcast in Spain and 20 Latin American countries, and was the first and so far only Moroccan chef to receive the opportunity to work with Ferran Adria in the gourmet restaurant “El Bulli”. The celebrity chef said of her afterwards: “Najat Kaanache embodies the soul of Morocco through her language of her cuisine”. Her passion for creativity and innovation is unique - since 2016, gourmets have been able to witness this for themselves in her restaurant “Nur” in the historic medina of the Moroccan city of Fez, where she combines the past, present and future of Moroccan cuisine in creative and, above all, aromatic dishes. “For me, the flavours of Morocco are the colours, the ancestors, the magic and mysticism, as well as the strength of the people," she says, taking her guests on a three-hour fine-dining journey through the food culture of Morocco. In 2017, “Nur” received the “World's Best Moroccan Restaurant” award at the “World Luxury Restaurant Awards”.
