Gal Ben Moshe was born and grew up in Tel Aviv. He discovered his passion for good food at an early age. At the age of twenty-two, he moved to London, where he refined his craft with various renowned chefs, such as 2-star master chef Claude Bosi. In 2013, Gal Ben Moshe opened his first restaurant of his own in Berlin - “Glass” in Charlottenburg, where he delighted the capital’s gourmet scene with modern, international cuisine. Yet the desire for traditional ingredients from his homeland continued to grow. In March 2018, he closed “Glass” and opened the restaurant “Prism” in November of the same year. Ever since, he has been serving creative fine-dining dishes there, which revive the traditional flavours of the Levant region, always based on unfamiliar ingredients, such as khubeza, jameed or malfouf. A number of his dishes are prepared over an open fire. One of the top chef’s signature dishes is lobster with accoub, a Lebanese wild plant. Gal Ben Moshe has succeeded in developing a new culinary language that uniquely combines the ingredients, ideas, and philosophies of Levantine cuisine with the most modern cooking techniques. In March 2020, he was awarded his first Michelin star for his efforts. As was the case in “Glass,” his wife Jaqueline Lorenz is responsible for the wine selection in “Prism.” She has been named one of “Germany's Top 50 Sommeliers”.
