Let us soar to great heights together and acquaint ourselves with two grape varieties that stand for sheer endless versatility away from the very large shadow cast by Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. We are talking about the often-forgotten grape varieties of Viognier and Syrah. There is, however, a perceptible enthusiasm for these varieties in various countries, so we will start our journey through this wonderful world of these wines right here in Switzerland.

In the case of Viognier, we are going to meet two very different interpretations from Switzerland, and then continue up the stairway to heaven towards the most famous areas of origin, namely Condrieu and Château Grillet. Afterwards, Syrah comes into view and tasting range, and we will also be tasting one of the wines by winemaking legend Jean-Louis Chave. Finally, we will focus on the 2012 vintage, sampling three top wines from three continents. So, fancy a taste of seventh (wine) heaven?
